Anglio e Olio:

This delightful dish is a good meal for you to take in the Lenten season. Anglio e Olio is Italian pasta in oil and garlic. It is easy to prepare pasta that is quite healthy for us. To prepare Anglio e Olio, you will need the following things:

  • 4 tablespoons garlic (fresh and minced).
  • Extra virgin olive oil ½ cup.
  • ¼ cup of chopped parsley.
  • 1 teaspoon of dried red pepper flakes.
  • ¼ cup of shrimp stock.
  • Spaghetti noodles 500 grams.
  • 750 grams of Shrimp peeled and deveined.
  • Salt and pepper.

Directions to cook:

First, cook the pasta in the boiling water according to the directions given. Then drain it. Now, pour the olive oil in a saucepan and heat it over a medium heat. After sometime, add the red pepper flakes and garlic. Cook the garlic until it turns slightly brown.  Next, add the shrimp and cook it on the low heat. Be careful and do not over heat it as it will burn the garlic. After that, add parsley and shrimp stock to the food. Moisten the food with salt and pepper. Simmer it for about five minutes and then remove it from the heat.

To prepare tastier pasts sauce, use shrimp heads to get shrimp stock. Use mortar and pestle to crush the shrimp. Pour the hot water into the crushed shrimp to get shrimp stock.

Salmon Belly Sinigang:

Salmon belly sinigang is a fish food that means Salmon belly in Sour Broth. You can easily get Salmon belly from the market. Salmon belly comes in pieces. Salmon belly has certain acids that play a vital role in the brain functions and keep the heart healthy. Salmon belly is a perfect dish for the Lenten season because you should not make it a part of your regular diet. You should take it occasionally.

Salmon Belly Sinigang


  • Salmon Belly 500 grams.
  • 1 onion diced into four pieces.
  • 5 Cloves of crushed garlic.
  • 3 diced tomatoes.
  • 2 pieces of green finger chilies (siling pang sigang).
  • 1 eggplant, large.
  • 4 pieces of okra, diced into 2.
  • 1 bundle of kangkong.
  • 100 grams of string beans (sitaw).
  • 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
  • Fish sauce (patis) or salt.
  • 1 liter water.
  • 1 pack of Sinigang Mix.

Directions to cook:

Wash the Salmon Belly and remove the scales. In a large pot, cook onions, tomatoes and garlic. Then deluge the water, patis and sinigang mix. Bring it to a boil and then add vegetables in it except kangkong. Simmer it for about five minutes. Then add Salmon belly and once again simmer it for five minutes. Then add the kangkong and cover it for a minute. After this, you are done! Serve it while the soup is hot and enjoy the delicious Salmon belly food.

Almond crusted tilapia fillet pasta:

Among the Filipino meals, Tilapia has been the major Lenten season meal. Tilapia is normally served as a fried or grilled meal. You can use this delightful fish in a number of recipes. One of the uses of Tilapia is in the fillet pasta.

Almond crusted tilapia fillet pasta


For Fillet:

  • Tilapia fillet, 2 pieces about 75-100 grams each.
  • ¼ cup of salted and finely crushed almonds.
  • Salt, paprika and pepper.

Cook the Tilapia fillet with salt, paprika and pepper. Cover the fillet with almonds and bake for 4 minutes at 1800 C.

For Pasta:

  • Butter 10grams.
  • Olive oil 15ml.
  • White onions 30 grams.
  • Garlic 3 grams.
  • Tomatoes 50grams.
  • Capers 50grams.
  • White wine 30grams.
  • Spaghetti noodles 250grams.

Melt the butter and heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Cook onions and garlic and add tomatoes and capers. Pour white wine and boil. Add salt and pepper. Stir the cooked into the sauce.
