An alarming revelation was seen during an experiment as a result of high sugar intake in the physical health of mice. According to the latest study, most of the western people are at high risk for lungs metastasis and breast cancer due to high consumption of sugar through their regular food items. The study further reveals that fructose is the biggest reason behind the increasing rate of tumor growth and breast cancer.
Fructose is the most common item found in the food items of daily consumption. Westerners follow the common trend to use corn syrup and table sugar on a daily basis; fructose is found in these food items in great abundance that leads them to great danger. Recently a team of researchers from the University of Texas MD conducted a study under the sponsorship of Anderson Cancer Center and found some shocking results. Team of these researchers used the findings of previous studies done on dietary sugar as the basis for this study. Researchers are of the opinion that dietary sugar possesses the components that spark up the germs for cancer. Researchers also revealed that dietary sugar is linked with different types of cancer.
Dr. Lorenzo Cohen, a professor at MD Anderson, stated in press release, “The current study investigated the impact of dietary sugar on mammary gland tumor development in multiple mouse models, along with mechanisms that may be involved. We determined that it was specifically fructose, in table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, ubiquitous within our food system, which was responsible for facilitating lung metastasis and 12-HETE production in breast tumors.” Dr. Lorenzo is an expert in integrative, palliative, and rehabilitation medicine.
During their experimentation, the researchers used various mice for four different types of experiments. In each experiment, researchers used a different level of fructose and sucrose; later on the results were extremely frightening. Around more than 55% mice that were fed with high-fructose diet showed the signs of cancer and mammary tumors before the age of one year. Dr. Lorenzo Cohen is of the opinion that although recent findings suggest that sugar is responsible for triggering up the cancer cells but more research is needed to find out the direct link between sugar and cancer.
